The Writer (The Ghost Writer)

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

The Ghost WriterThe film, adapted from a novel by Robert Harris, who has worked in the writer himself, has the direction of Roman Polanski fireproof. In the spectacular roster of actors in the film include Ewan McGregor, Jon Bernthal, Kim Cattrall, Pierce Brosnan, Tim Preece, and James Belushi.

The film tells how a writer agrees to write the memoirs of a former prime minister, Adam Lang, replacing the first writer, who died in an unfortunate accident. While his agent told him he would be a great opportunity for his career will soon discover that a commission is poisoned, as the prime minister is accused of war crimes by working with the CIA in the illegal transfer of prisoners and torture. Their problems will increase when you begin to suspect that the death of his predecessor was not as accidental and that the prime minister keeps a dark secret.

The ghost writer
This is a clear political thriller inspired by the Iraq war and the shameful actions of some world leaders, especially Tony Blair, which seems clearly inspired by the plot. The tape comes also with the backing of the Permian in the Berlin Film Festival, where he was considered the best film of the event and all this to think that his head was under house arrest in Switzerland.

All this, coupled with the guarantee of one of the great directors that the cinema has given us, making this production highly recommended.
