“The Crazies” was a 1973 horror film directed by George Romero ( “Creepshow,” “The Night of the Living Dead”), written with Paul McCollough, and now in 2010 will have a new version The filmmaker’s hands Breck Eisner ( “Thoughtcrimes”), who in case you do not know, also is considering for 2012 premiere a remake of “Flash Gordon”, with a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
The remake of “The Crazies” from and is based on the characters he created Romero in the 70’s (listed as executive producer on this version 2010), but with a new adaptation written by Scott Kosar ( “The Slaughter of Texas”) and Ray Wright, who wrote the screenplay for “Case 39″ ( “Case 39″), horror thriller that will come to Argentina soon, starring Renée Zellweger and Bradley Cooper.
The cast of this modernized version, they share Radha Mitchell ( “Identity Substitute”), Danielle Panabaker ( “Friday the 13th”), Timothy Olyphant ( “A Perfect Getaway”), Joe Anderson ( “Amelia”), Preston Bailey ( “Fun Mortal “), Lisa K. Wyatt ( “The Box”), Justin Welborn ( “The Final Destination”) and Christie Lynn Smith ( “The Cursed”).
The film is still in post, and would debut at least in U.S. theaters on March 26, 2010.
The story of “The Crazies” begins with David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant), Sheriff Ogden Marsh, a quiet town, perfect, and respectable citizens. Until one day, one enters through a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun, ready to kill. Another man on fire inside his own house, after locking up his wife and young son in a closet.
